Your street address, city, and ZIP are sent to the U.S. Census Bureau's geocoding service to find your congressional district and the officials who represent you. This is required because congressional districts split ZIP codes; without a street address we could hand you a letter addressed to someone who is not your representative.
Your name and email are used to sign the letters generated for you, and are stored, along with which officials you told us you contacted, so we can keep an honest running count of the campaign. This is self-reported: we have no way to confirm a letter or form submission actually reached a congressional office, so the count reflects actions taken, not actions verified.
If you use the address autocomplete field, your typed characters are sent to Google's Places API to suggest matching addresses. That field is optional; typing your address directly into the plain fields works the same without it.
The letter to the Secretary of Commerce is pre-addressed with your state's own ASMFC commissioners in CC, for visibility. That is a CC on the email you choose to send, not a separate disclosure of your data; it only reaches them if you click send.
We do not sell or share your name, email, or address with any third party, including the officials you contact. We do not use your data for fundraising solicitation. We do not run advertising trackers on this page.
